Privacy

Sign-in, where data lives, what we collect, and how you erase it.

Full policies live with the app. The complete Privacy Policy and Terms of Service (last updated 5 Aug 2026) are published on the auth host the app links from About: Privacy Policy · Terms of Service. This page is a plain-language summary for the website.

Authentication

Sign in with Google, email and password, or an emailed sign-in link. Forgot password mails a link that reopens the app on a set-new-password form.

Email passwords need 8+ characters with upper and lower case, a digit, and a special character. Generate secure password can fill one in.

After email sign-up, open the verification link, then sign in. Unverified accounts cannot sign in.

New accounts show Pending approval. An admin must approve you. Tap Check status after approval — the screen does not poll.

Offline use works if this device was approved before. Import and solve need no network. Uploads wait until you are online.

To delete your account, open Settings → Your data. semper re-checks identity on the sign-in screen first (password, Google, or emailed link).

After you confirm, it erases cloud backup, this device's data, and the sign-in, then signs you out. If the cloud is unreachable, nothing is deleted.

Step-by-step: Manual · Getting started.

Data storage

DIC correlation runs only on the phone. The cloud never recomputes fields.

Analyses stay on the device by default.

Save to cloud (optional) queues backups when online. Wi-Fi only holds uploads until Wi-Fi.

A backup is the analysis package you already computed (frames and results). Account and device metadata live with the backend. Image bytes are uploaded by the device to org storage — not processed by the API.

Settings → Analyses data management lists local and cloud rows. You can back up, restore, or delete per row. Home can show Only in cloud rows after Free up space; tap to download them back.

Your data also offers Export my data (everything on this phone) and Download my cloud account data (the server's copy).

Data policy

What we collect

  • Account identity from Firebase Auth (email; name when the provider supplies it).
  • A random device id (not IMEI, serial, or MAC), plus model and OS version for device binding.
  • Analysis backups when cloud backup is on (frames and results you choose to sync).
  • Crash and error diagnostics only if you opt in (off by default; never includes images or results). Change under Settings → Your data → Send crash reports.
  • Support mail you send — the app can attach account, device id, app version, and phone model.

Why

  • Sign-in, email verification, and admin approval.
  • Optional backup and restore.
  • Fixing crashes when you have opted in.
  • Private account support.

Your controls

  • Leave cloud backup off. No new uploads are queued.
  • Leave crash reports off (the default).
  • Delete local only, cloud backup only, or everywhere — read the dialog.
  • Export phone data or download your cloud account data from Settings → Your data.
  • Delete the account to erase cloud copy, device data, and sign-in.
  • Email support@sempermechanics.com for private account issues.

Community posts (Q&A, bugs, features) go to GitHub. That content follows GitHub's terms, not this backup path.

Privacy policy

semper is provided by IndicVision. Contact: support@sempermechanics.com.

We do not sell your account or analysis data.

We keep account and backup data while your account exists, or until you delete a backup or the account.

After account erasure, sign-in and stored backups for that account are removed as described under Authentication.

Correlation runs on device. Optional cloud backup stores what you sync so you can restore it — not so the cloud can re-run DIC.
